As part of our ongoing partnership with baby charity, Tommy’s, we recently asked Tommy’s employee, Caroline, to treat herself and her husband to a well-deserved night out, using Bubble to find a babysitter for their two little girls.
Here’s what she thought of her first-ever Bubble experience…
Was it easy to get started?
I’ve been using a different babysitting service for ages now and I know exactly what I need to do to book someone, so, I’ll be honest, I was slightly apprehensive about trying something new.
I was expecting it to be really complicated to set Bubble up on my phone, but I’m pleased to say that my experience was quite the opposite. Downloading the app was really easy and I was away in no time.
Everything is very well laid out so it didn’t take me long to find my way around and choose some babysitters.
How did you choose your babysitter?
I was spoilt for choice – there were so many to choose from! What really helped me was seeing the endorsements and reviews from other parents. If there was a “thumbs down”, I was able to contact the person who left the review and find out more, which I thought was a really nice touch. Connecting with other parents really made me feel confident in the sitters I chose.
Many of the babysitters had great experience and there was a lot of information about each person, much more than I expected. It meant that I was able to find people who had interests similar to my children.
What happened after you chose your preferred sitter?
Well, I actually picked multiple sitters from the list, and the first one to accept got the job! Everything is done through the app – choosing a babysitter, arranging a time, even payment. It was like Uber for babysitters. Like I said, it was really easy!
What I especially liked was that we wanted to stay out past midnight (!), which can sometimes be a problem, but not with Bubble.
And did you have a good time?
Ha! We did, thanks. We were out at a friend’s birthday.
Anything you’d change about Bubble?
Because everything is done through the app I would have liked to have a number to call the babysitter and check that everything was confirmed, but I’m pretty sure that’s just because it’s what I’m used to doing.
I messaged her through the app and she said she would be there on time, as booked. It’s more that I just need to learn to let go and put my trust in the app.
Final thoughts?
I would definitely recommend Bubble to other parents, and will be using it again myself. In fact, Valentine’s Day is just around the corner…
