What is a good Christmas present for a 1 year old?

Good Christmas presents for a 1 year old include a push-along walker, a shape sorter, touch-and-feel board books, soft play blocks and a low ride-on. Look for chunky, sturdy toys labelled as suitable for their age, with no small or detachable parts. An experience, like a farm park membership, is also a lovely gift at this age.

What should I buy a 2 year old for Christmas?

Two year olds love pretend play and building, so a play kitchen, toy tool bench, wooden train set, doll and buggy or chunky building blocks are all good choices. Simple puzzles, an easel and a balance bike are also worth considering. Toys that can be played with in lots of different ways tend to last the longest.

How many Christmas presents should a toddler get?

There's no right number, and toddlers are often happiest with a few presents rather than a big pile. Agreeing one main present each with the grandparents is a simple way to avoid doubling up. You can also save some gifts to open later in the holidays, when the excitement has worn off.

What toys are not safe for toddlers?

Avoid toys with small or detachable parts, loose cords or ribbons, and anything with an accessible button battery. In Great Britain, toys that are hazardous for under-threes must carry a warning such as 'Not suitable for children under 36 months'. Buy from reputable sellers and check second-hand toys carefully for wear.
