Pick up a bat Bounce in Holborn is a restaurant and bar with a difference. Helping Parents & Sitters Just Say Yes!

We’ve just put out a new version of our app and it’s one we’re really excited about. This is mainly because amongst the many fixes and improvements is new functionality allowing our sitters to schedule their availability for the next fortnight. Now, sitters will only show up in a parent’s search if they’ve told the app they’re available on that day and in that time slot (“daytime” & “evening”.) We’re excited about this for two reasons: It’s something both parents and sitters have been asking us for since day one. Parents understandably only want to see the babysitters that can …

Parents on bubble are doing what?

Having survived the summer, and now having successfully navigated back to school week, parents have been using bubble to arrange themselves some well-earned “me time”. We thought we’d share some of the things that the app’s allowed them to get out and do: Book a 7 am sitter for a rare Saturday morning lie-in; Take a 2-hour trip to Tesco in peace and quiet; Get to the cinema for the first time in years; Take out the bike for a 50m ride; Meet friends for an impromptu & overdue night out; Get to the gym to work-off some holiday excess It’s been great …

“Meet the Sitter”

In the process of getting bubble off the ground, we’ve been fortunate enough to meet and talk to lots of fantastic babysitters, boasting all kind of talents, backgrounds and experience. It made us think that we’d like to showcase some of the hero sitters we’re lucky enough to have on the app, so we decided to start a regular feature on the blog – Meet the Sitter – in which we ask one of the bubble babysitters nine questions about them (10 felt a bit clichéd….) and why they enjoy the work they do. First up, is Katie Maughan, a …

A failed experiment

Here’s something you probably knew: us parent’s don’t really like sharing our babysitters. Even your most solid, selfless all round do-gooder friend that’ll drop everything for you 99% of the time can be found wanting when asked for the phone number of the amazing sitter that helped them out last week. The same one they instantly regretted ever mentioning to you as soon as they saw your step spring and eyes light up. What’s more, this behaviour is in no way frowned upon, even by the person on the receiving end of it. “Fair enough, I’d do the same” is …
